I'm a junior mechanical engineering student, and I'm looking for a Summer 2027 internship or a Spring/Summer co-op.

I treat design as a complementary discipline to engineering, it sharpens how I think, how I communicate ideas visually, and how I bring a creative edge to technical work. The projects I care about most are the ones where the process is as interesting as the outcome, where you can trace every decision from a constraint, a calculation, or a failed prototype.

What I work on

My main project right now is the PCBrule, a slide rule made from printed circuit board. What started as a "wouldn't it be cool if" idea in high school has turned into real product development mechanical design, GD&T, PCB layout, prototyping, and the messy iteration in between.

Other work includes a removable fin attachment system for NASA USLI, a DIY snowskate built from a recycled kids' ski with waterjet-cut mounting plates, and an ESP32-based finger strength trainer for climbing. I also interned at Boeing in flight performance engineering, developing tools to analyze large-scale simulation data.

Outside of engineering

Climbing is a big part of my life. I don't see a version of my future that doesn't include it in some way. The outdoors is where I reset, and climbing is how I stay connected to it. I think it would be really awesome to work someplace who specializes in a field adjacent to climbing or the outdoors. I plan on getting both IRATA and SPRAT rope access certifications.

I like to write, both as a way of thinking through problems and as a way of documenting what I'm working on. I'm involved with the Rose-Hulman chapter of the Young Democratic Socialists of America, where I co-founded the chapter and serve as Vice Chair. I think it's important, more than ever, to make an effort to understand what's happening in the world at large, and to have the language to talk about it.
