Curate and install rotating art exhibitions across campus spaces, working with faculty to align placement with community needs and provide recognition for emerging local artists.
What I do
- Exhibition layout and installation — plan and install shows across multiple campus venues, accounting for wall condition, lighting, sightlines, and flow
- Artist coordination — communicate with featured artists on delivery, handling, and installation requirements
- Faculty collaboration — align art placement with departmental and community priorities
- Campus impact — contribute to the daily environment for 2,000+ students and faculty
What I learned
How to work within physical constraints (wall space, lighting, traffic patterns) while preserving the intent of the artwork. Curation is a design problem, every placement decision trades off visibility against context, and the right answer depends on what the viewer is meant to take away from the show.
